The Sunday Gravy tradition
Sometime between docking at Ellis Island and sitting down at Nana’s Formica table for spaghetti and meatballs, Sunday Gravy became a Jersey Italian tradition.
My daughters’ great grandmother learned how to make Sunday Gravy from her mother who immigrated to New Jersey from Campania, Italy in the late 1890s. She taught me in the 1980s, and I’ve been making it ever since.
Who’s Geebee?
The lady behind the gravy. I love making delicious food for people. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people smile when they taste Sunday Gravy for the first time. My mission with Geebee’s Kitchen is to make you smile with every bite.
